Alberto Guerrero-Velázquez

Philosopher, Cognitive Scientist

I am a philosopher with a deep interest in the mind, interculturality, and multidisciplinarity. I recently completed a PhD in Philosophy at the University of Western Australia (UWA), under the supervision of Professor Rob Wilson. My research was funded by UWA and the ARC Discovery Project, Keeping Kinship in Mind. My thesis focuses on episodic thinking and mnemonic discordance, with a specific emphasis on autobiographical memory and its interaction with imagination, identity, language, and collective memory.

I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes, Mexico. Subsequently, I moved to Argentina to complete a specialisation in Social Sciences with a focus on Social History at the University of Luján in Buenos Aires. In 2020, I completed a Master’s degree in Cognitive Science at the Autonomous University of the State of Morelos.

My contributions to the fields of philosophy and social history have been published in journals across Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, and Brazil. I was the compiler of Memorias desde el sur, a collective publication offering profound interdisciplinary perspectives on memory processes in Colombia and Argentina.
